Journal Entry; 24 May 5045
So, I've been studying Archaeology under Professor River Song. It has been... a doozy. I finished my religious studies degree in 2020 and then started my Archaeology Master's in 5045. It's been 5 months now and Ive just finished my first semester with straight As and been involved in so many of her "digs" that my worldview has been completely reformed..
It's been a stressful time. Ive jumped into the future and to the best of my reckoning completely missed Gehenna. As far as I can tell, I am the last Terran Vampire left. Kindred to no one.
Of course, through the power of time travel I can visit the days before the Dalek Invasion of Earth. Before the Daleks destroyed so much of the human population and completely eliminated the Kindred. But knowing the end... seeing things continue on as normal... it's hard.
I know humanity lives on. Between space station refugees and survivors, there are humans all over the place now. Maybe my people live on, continuing their lives in secrecy out there among the stars. How can I tell?
But, for the most part, life has been incredible. I stick out occasionally as I struggle with technologies that an infant child can use from birth. That, however, is nothing new. Living for more than a hundred linear years on Earth I passed through eras of technology I never got the hang of. Better with MP3 players than VCRs, sometimes the newer thing is easier to understand than the older one. I'm getting better all the time and soon I'll be like a 51st century native.
I haven't had the time to devote to developing my craft, unfortunately. I hope to make time, but even more prohibitive has been the access to blood. With no Camarilla, I have been much more careful about feeding. I do not want to take more than I need. Further, I have no need. My general wants are largely provided for. I have no elders to impress, no wealth to amass. Having a few techniques in my pocket is useful, sure, but I have no Kindred to sell my wares.
Time has been kind to me. I hope time has been kind to the future me who reads this.
