Garrett had stolen the wheelchair from their garage, knowing whoever was in his body and whoever was his dad wouldn’t care---right? It didn’t matter, he couldn’t risk getting wet and ending up floundering on the floor again. So he took the wheelchair and in some way hoped he could wheel himself to find his dad or his body. But instead, he ended up getting distracted searching the opposite side walk that he wheeled into someone. “Oh--shit, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.”

The anger seemed to be what tortured the young man the most, he had a handle on it or so he had believed. He had been biking home from work, it had been a good day and he even planned to go sneak over to Leilani’s later with his pup when he took him for a walk. But that was until he can over some broken glass in the street and his bike lost control. He’d gone head first over the handle bars and after he was able to shake off the shock he turned back to the bike--he lost it. The bike looked more like an abstract sculpture than anything else, it was bent and tore in every way. The boy now sat on the curb as he let the steam boil off before he would walk home. He wanted to blame the coming full moon, but it wasn’t that it was a side effect of what he was. It was the anniversary that was approaching that left him on edge, but he refused to admit it no matter how true it was.
