in my got verse, sherlock holmes is an adviser because of his deduction skills. something along those lines works really well in medieval verses and is pretty adaptable to anything. i mean in lotr you could have him advise the traveling parties?
adviser, i like that, it’s a good setting-appropriate play on consultant... though i’m sort of toying with the idea of what sherlock’s interests would be in a medieval setting. he has so many interests and hobbies beyond just his deductive prowess and though in a victorian/modern setting the art of detection makes sense as his main focus, detectives are kind of absent from medieval tales. makes me wonder how, ignorant to that character-defining profession, his interests and personality would manifest...
