To say that Carter was tired would be the most understated statement in the history of forever, and from what Carter could gather, it was the same case for Paige. She was obviously exhausted, as was Carter, but Paige was advised to still be on bed rest which means not only did Carter have to deal with the two crying newborns in the house, but he also had to do house work, as well as cook and make tea when Paige requested, and look after the babies when Paige wanted to sleep, which didn't happen a lot over the last week, but it seemed like 100 times as long as that.
After hearing the babies finally stop crying, Carter popped into the bedroom to check on them and his wife, who had requested yet more tea, so Carter obliged and made two mugs, one for himself and one for Paige. Quietly and carefully, he carried the mugs of tea on a tray upstairs with a couple of digestive biscuits each and he went to the bedroom, where the quietly snoring babies were sleeping in their crib beside his and Paige's bed. "Hey..." he whispered, to not wake the twins. "Here's your tea." He said, handing her her tea and biscuits then putting the tray on the little bedside table and climbing into bed beside her then he leaned over and grabbed his own tea and biscuits. "God, I'm exhausted." Carter said, tilting his head back against the bed frame tiredly and closed his eyes as he waited for his tea to cool.
