Hello, all. With being sick and then having to put my sweet girl down, it’s been a rough week. But I’m ready to get back to blogging and settling on a daily routine for myself.
I decided to (finally) bleach my roots and add a new color, “Atomic Pink” by Special Effects. I kept the “Blood Red” color (also by Special Effects) on the ends of my dreadlocks. I wasn’t sure about the brightness of the pink, but after getting dressed in my gothic garb, I love it!
Here’s what I wore. I wore a black camisole under the cropped sweater, which is not pictured (I consider the camisole “underwear”).
PROJECT 666 Staples: Cropped sweater (S7), Yoga tribal pants (P1), Boots (B1)
Cropped sweater: Cryoflesh, Yoga tribal pants: Creaturre (Etsy), Boots: FitFlop (brand)
Silver eye pendant: Ebay, Black cross earrings: gift
Here’s my face. Just eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, blush, and lipstick. I added 4 tiny dots on the sides of my eyes:
Finally, how my locs have progressed so far:
I’m happy that I decided to bite the bullet and dye my roots. I was hesitant, because I wanted my locs to mature a bit before bleaching and dying. I think this new color will look even better, once my roots start to loc.

New Color for 10-Month Old Dreads ♦ Hello, all. With being sick and then having to put my sweet girl down, it's been a rough week.

My dreads are now half a year old. With Halloween and my Raq Out performance now done, I’m finally able to post my progress on my “babies”. They are still looking crazy and I still love them. I’m growing more and more attached to them as the days go by. It’s an incredible journey into my crazy hair.
I decided that the “half-way mark” of my locs deserved a fresh dye job. I was thinking of bleaching the roots, but I think I will wait until they’re at least a year old, although I don’t really mind having dark roots now. Since I dye my dark roots along with my locs, they just blend together. I may never bleach them, to be honest. I have nothing against bleach (obviously), but even bleach at a low volume (I used 20v on my loose hair) is damaging to the hair.
We’ll start with my outfit of the day. I wore the blue tunic dress again. It seems I’m always wearing this dress at the beginning of the month, but it rained yesterday and this dress, along with my 20-eye Doc Martens, are nice to wear on such days.
Blue dress: purchased at DC Fashion Week, Leggings: Amazon
Studded choker: Aeon Leather (Etsy), “Resplen-dance” ribbon necklace: Sciscitor (Etsy). I love this necklace, but I’m not too fond of the ribbon. It’s pretty, but I prefer something more sturdy. I’ll probably replace the ribbon with a leather or silk cord.
Here’s my makeup. It’s hard to see in these pictures, but I added a little bit of glitter to my eyelids. The glitter is Too Faced® Glitter Dust** in “Nude Beam”. The glitter bits are small, perfect for when I want to wear glitter with minimal bling.
**I purchased this online, but now I can’t seem to find it to provide a link. Has this product been discontinued?
Here’s a close-up
My progress so far, from loose hair to now:
I’ve noticed a significant change between last month and now. Not only is my hair darker at the roots after re-dying them, but my locs are not sticking out like they did in October. I was sort of bummed, but then I remembered that I do want long locs. It looks like they are starting to “lie down” a bit. After realizing this I’m delighted!

Hello, my pretties! I have a dance performance this weekend and my hair was dismally faded. I had to do something. Sure, most of my hair won’t be seen from the flowers and feathers that I wear for dance. But I was missing the dark, blood red color that I love. So, I decided to take a risk and re-dye my baby dreads. I figured as long as I don’t bleach my hair (like I used to do when my…

Considering a new haircolor
I am considering coloring my hair a new, fresh color. It’s a bit scary, actually, that I am pondering straying from The Pink. But… I actually feel like trying something new, something different. Since… I feel new, I feel different! You know? I have considered maybe re-dying the dreads that already have a washed out pink, pink again, they are kind of underneath the dreads that are all bleached and readdddyyy, I am thinking orange, maybe? So orange on the outside and pink on the inside? ;)
So, what do you people think? What color (or colors) should I dye my dreadlocks?
