     a surprised little snort slipped from dorian before he could stop himself. it made almost zero sense to him why anyone would ask him on a date. he wasn’t anything special as far as he was concerned. just your average dork working at a record store. so of course he assumed she was joking.

    “yeah.. yeah of course. we’ll lock the store and just hang out here and dance to whatever random ass records people turned in this week,” he answered with a grin. “order like chinese food or some shit. make a real fun ass night out of it.”

What an exceptional farce this was. Himself, MI6 personnel, being sent to a normal therapist. It took all the willpower Gareth had to drag himself here in the first place, even more than that to take the session seriously. Whatever this poor man thought he’d gotten himself into, Gareth was almost certain that it would be far worse than he’d imagined.

“You know, most of my staff won’t be terribly pleased that they’re going to be starting from scratch around here-” himself included. It wasn’t in MI6′s best interest to share confidential medical documents with a civilian therapist. It was a security breach waiting to happen. “I’m not too terribly happy with it either, Mr. Ayers, especially given that my neurosis of choice is simply stress.”

“Wow, look at that. Suddenly I’m having a ball-” fun wasn’t exactly the issue for Peter right about now. He wasn’t pleasant company right now - that much was obvious from Wes’ comment - but the young man liked to think that he could be cut some slack. He’d managed to both go on patrol and get the first draft of his thesis edited before he passed out for a solid hour and fifteen minutes. Peter Parker was tired. Sue him.

Still, regardless of the biting sarcasm Peter does try to cheer up a bit, sits slightly straighter, fakes a passable smile, “Better?”

“You take me for a glory hound then, huh? Good to know-” there’s a vaguely wounded smile offered in August’s direction, betrayed almost completely by the unabashed twinkle in Dick’s eye. “I mean, if there was any glory to be had around here, yeah, maybe that’s why I’d show up, but I don’t see any right now, so-” he quirks a brow as he scans the area, huffs a little laugh as he shrugs.

“Then again, I showed up late, so maybe I’ve missed all the glory.” He hadn’t missed August, though, and that was - at the end of the day - the most important thing. “Sounds like you’re here for the glory, though, so now I’m curious... can’t let you have all the fun without me, can I?”

nine & cal: or more commonly known as ‘cal tries to fuck an alien’. nine would either be mildly annoyed with cal at all times or endeared af, and it’s almost completely dependent on the first impression cal makes on him dasf

dick & alexi: local superhero patrols past alexi’s house every night and probably befriends eva who leaves him little gifts and eagerly awaits his appearance each night; dick vowing to make sure eva and alexi stay safe??? dick probably being real awkward out of costume lbr

dick & hollis: a) dick trying to set up all of his girl friends with the ex-army woman he met bc he knows she could protect them, or b) is hollis a good person or one of the bad guys??? dick has no idea, and she hasn’t technically done anything wrong, so he gives up the superhero approach and tries to befriend her to see whether he needs to be worried or not

dick & august: sue me but i’m getting some ‘love at first sight’ vibes here already. they pass in the street and it’s like ‘oh shit, i love him’ and then spend the next, like, month trying to cross paths again before dick makes use of his resources and as uncreepily as possible tracks august down so they can, y’know, be big gay

john & chase: i’m not saying that john can sense someone in need of company or support from a mile off, but u bet ur ass he ends up in the bar where chase works after his shift one day and just strikes up conversation. expect moves to be made and dates to be planned.
