You've probably been asked this a million times or the answer is in your blog somewhere, but who do you envision as Rhaegar?
I've never been asked this actually! Which will probably make my answer even more disappointing, unfortunately. I don't have a clear mental picture of Rhaegar.
I really relate to this post, and judging by the notes, a lot of other people do too:
i’ve never seen a fancast for rhaegar that i’ve been happy with but that’s probably because when i think of rhaegar i literally just picture an anime character among regular westerosi people
In reply to one of my other posts, solidsender mentioned Garrett Hedlund as he appeared in Troy; I've seen that fancast before and I think it works well for gifsets. (Thanks solidsender, I'm definitely a fan of yours!)
Fancasts I've used or thought about using in Rhaegar graphics are
young!Travis Fimmel - though I really like him for young!Jaime tbh
Dylan Fosket - Dylan is definitely fancast as some Targaryen in my mind, but I'm not sure that he's my Rhaegar. Anyways, the blog dylanfosket is really great for looking at pictures of Dylan, I recommend following it.
Andrej Pejic - they're probably my favorite Rhaegar fancast, at least from the photoshoots I've seen.
When HBO casts Andrej Pejic as Rhaegar, when Michelle Clapton draws up designs for ruby-studded armor, when long silver hair blows in the winds of Dubrovnik, when Ramin Djawadi composes "Rhaegar's Theme," an emo yet epic score to be played whenever Rhaegar appears on screen while JonCon tries manfully to hold back his manly tears,
then I will have my distinct mental picture of Rhaegar, and not before.
In the meantime, I just enjoy the pretty graphics and gifsets.
