As much as I loved Skam, I also felt a bit on the "outside" watching it, considering the story is set in a wealthy part of Oslo where their habits and traditions are waaaay different than elsewhere in the country, especially with everything having to do with russ. In my town we do the same as you, have vans at the most, and not spending hundred thousands on it lol. Considering i was mentally ill & socially awkward for most of my time in vgs i can't really relate to it, but still fun to watch! :)

Haha yeah I was pretty much in the exact same situation. Dealing with a shit ton of anxiety and spent 2 of 3 years with hardly any friends. I’m sure it’s relatable to rich Oslo kids?? lmao

out of curiosity; who would you fancast as an older arya? :)

a classic fancast I like is Olga Kurylenko - and Jenny Boyd for a more show-based arya. I also liked Kristen Stewart in this gifset lol.

then there’s Amanda Laine who wonderfully fits the *long face* aesthetic and could be a great choice for lyanna too (except she’s older than canon!lyanna... like most lyanna fancasts are anyway)

after watching Raw I thought Garance Marillier was also a good option for a book!arya fancast, if you’re not bothered by the lack of period drama images for her.

and a bit too much on the top model side (her face isn’t really “long” but it’s angular in a way I like) is Amelia Zadro.

RE the GoT-costumes: i mean sure they definitely have a high standard, but considering the increasing budget and expanding storylines you'd hoped they would be a tad more epic. idk.. at least with the dresses. i personally like the costumes, they're not bad. The wigs on the other hand i'm not so impressed with. Especially dany's wig, if you compare it with season 1, which had a more natural feel to it. now it's too pristine, in a way.

I see your point, but I don’t necessarily agree. The style seem to match exactly what we’ve seen so far in the series, it being relatively simple, and I don’t think super fancy dresses (and don’t take me wrong i’d LOVE to see Dany in something super majestic) would fit with the storyline right now? she’s out there conquering, and her outfits so far seem regal, but practical. Her new red and black outfit, with the dragonscale cloak and furlined herringbone dress/coat?? HOT DAMN that is costume porn for me hahaCersei’s outfits too seem to really reflect her current position in the show. My biggest complain about Dany’s wig is the color really, I miss that more silvery tone, but it being more in shape makes sense considering back in season 1 she was walking amongst the Dothraki, and now she’s a full blown queen haha (definitely miss the dothraki style for wigs tho, so much easier to style sob)I do hope that if we get to see Dany on the Iron Throne one day, that it will deliver some epic regal Queenly dresses pls

I’ve watched it with a friend who has Amazon Prime, but the entire first season is also on t/orrent and streaming sites!

oh i'm just a stubborn idiot and my mantra is "i'll live", which is true bc i've never been asked to take flu shots before and my condition + health are super chill, it's never caused trouble ever in my life. my doctors are just doing their job too well sending every at risk-group reminders lol

In Scandinavia we only dub children’s shows like Disney Channel and such, everything else has it’s original voices. Though we start learning english at 6 years old (at least in norway) and keep it throughout the rest of our education, also english is used a lot in our daily lives so i guess we have an advantage there. In what stage does english become a part of the curriculum in your country?

yeah same here w/ the children's programmes, english in elementary school used to vary per school (in one school i had it at age 7, the other started at 8) but i think its age 8 at least everywhere, and it's one of the classes you HAVE to pass in high school exams (the others being math/dutch). plus we use it a lot in our daily lives as well so it seems quite similar
