the last time that taejun's played a good round of paintball is a long while ago. all taejun knows is that he loves the thrill and he's always down for the adrenaline rush. not only does it give him a good run, it also pushes his competitive side out and urges him to do better. most importantly, he always has fun and there's really nothing better than that is there?
typically, getting involved in anything sporty or physically challenging puts taejun in a great mood - aside from tripping over his own feet or smacking himself in the face with his hands with whatever he's holding. but this time is even more important and enjoyable to taejun because he's playing on the same team as kiyoung. it was rare for taejun to play on the same team as one of his closest and best friends considering the junior played his rival as hwaseong's quidditch beater whenever they saw each other on a playing field.
the two have always had a great dynamic despite being in different houses. they could often be found pulling pranks and being mischievous together. if not, they would be attempting to have productive study sessions in the library. in all honesty though, those sessions tended to consist of long chats unrelated to what needed to be done and just messing around. despite being a rowdy pair known for their energetic dynamic and roughhousing, they also shared meaningful moments of being there when things got serious.
it's the idea of winning with kiyoung as actual teammates that finally draws taejun out of his own thoughts as the two teams start padding up.
"they really aren't gonna be prepared for what's about to hit them."
taejun grins widely as he glances at kiyoung beside him, slipping on the protective gear to prevent any serious injuries. if people thought that the two of them were good at what they did individually, imagine how great the two of them would do together. this had always been one of taejun's favorite thoughts that never failed to encourage him towards playing better; for the times he would get to play with kiyoung.
"since we can't take bets on who's going to win this game, let's take bets on who gets the most people out."
