Download everything I want/hope to read in EPUB format. I try to anyways... if I notice I got too many tabs open on my browser, time to download If multi-chapter remember first to press 'Entire Work' and then 'Download'
I am terrible at remembering book titles that's why I do the covers ; I find I can better recall the story with an image.
2. I got two folders on my phone [remember to keep a backup copy and a backup of that backup with some regularity] One folder is essentially my 'To Be Read' & another one for the books I'm working on aka. currently reading and am collecting art pieces that I think would work as a cover.
The main reason why I use folders instead of an app is because backups are easier to keep this way.
KEEP REGULAR BACKUPS OF YOUR BACKUP I have managed to accidentally damage/lose/delete files and folders fill with books and comics from ao3 i collected for years that i never managed to recovered. I still feel grief over this.
3. Calibre [a computer program] is where my e-books live in my computer and keep track of them with little stickers.
3. To read I use Episteme on my phone. The main feature of this app allows for ✧ in-app annotations✧
4. ✧ in-app annotations✧ to me is like writing in the margins which i need so i can provide enrichment to glorious magnificent authors , that share their passion with us for free. This annotation go to the comment section of each chapter and all other musing and words of worship as well.
i use the blockquote when posting.
something like this...
looks like this when posted
5. I use Quillpad (android app) to keep a collection of Kaomoji. I prefer Kaomoji because they look the same for everyone depending on your device / operative system emojis look different , which grinds my gears is simpler for expressing my silliness to the authors.
6. I use SquidgeWorld Archive to host my covers to Ao3.
I think that's all I can think of sharing on this topic. I am open to questions and adding things to this post with visual aid and whatever I can do to help , do let me know.
Keeping a copy of books safe and easy to find
KEEP BACKUPS OF YOUR BACKUPS
I'll keep updating this if there is anything to update, thanks for reading I hope is helpful.
This is a reply ‘that-went-too-big’ to @ soulakuarian: “@dedogreen Agroecology books references would be amazing, please. Especially in tropical climate. Thanks a bunch.”
>>> Hey @soulakuarian, thanks for replying. I'm working on new contents for the page, including an E-library section. For now, i can suggest a few books:
- About the basics of Agroecology: all the works of Miguel Altieri [this author is a major reference], especially "Agroecology and the Search for a Truly Sustainable Agriculture" http://www.agroeco.org/doc/agroecology-engl-PNUMA.pdf
- About the hard science of Agroecology (it’s interactions with ecology, biology, economics and other fields, + environmental impacts and implementation strategies): there's this 400 page compilation made by FAO [ Agroecology for food Security And Nutrition], with articles in many topics. http://www.fao.org/3/a-i4729e.pdf
- About practices and cultivation systems: I can recommend "An Introduction to Agroforestry" by Nair Ramachandran. It's a bit old (1984) but covers it all on agroforestry [wich is a component of Agroecology], and it focus on tropical systems - but not only. https://www.researchgate.net/file.PostFileLoader.html?id=55e09e415cd9e38d4d8b45eb&assetKey=AS%3A273841144696841%401442300224945
If you're looking for more technical clues on systems, practices and species that will work on your region, I suggest you search for specific case studies docs on youtube and blogs, and try to contact a local agroecological/organic farmers community and related NGO. The technical aspects of every agroecological project are very microclimate-region specific, so most of this knowledge remains sort of "confined" among farmers and native communities, and just recently it's being compiled for a larger public. You can find most of these and other materials available in PDF ebooks. Just look for them at Google Scholar.
Hope I've helped. Any ideas and contributions, please submit.
