I'm uber excited to share with you all this diamond in the rough one could say.  A gem indeed that will spark new life in the love we all call hip hop.  What am I talking about? It's more so WHO I am talking about. I remember going on a tangent on twitter of some sort about producers and music.  Ironically that same day my inbox was blessed with some really dope hip hop beats!  That's thanks to a South East London producer who goes by the name Motel Eola.

  I'm pleased to announce I'm going to be working with him and breaking him into the US market.  For a 19 year old kid, he's got some raw talent, an ear for music, and is on to "coining" a signature sound that could very much so breath new wind into the gut of hip hop.  Motel Eola laid his funk down with this track he calls "Elephant Graveyard." Enjoy!

#Ignant Insight: ARTISTS PAY ATTENTION!

What are you saying? No really, what the hell are you saying. One of the most fascinating pieces to the puzzle of this whole game to me, is the power to make people listen.  Its frustrating that there's A LOT of wack ass rappers who have A LOT of people listening, and yet they ain't really saying shit worth listening to.

With this whole life comes a great responsibility and MOST forget that.  I can only take so much dope boy music, or that bullshit you snap wiggle bounce to.  I mean ok you got my attention cause I had my ass in the air, BUT what's next?  Hip Hop just celebrated its 39th birthday.  AND at the rate it is going with  the new age artist that are coming out, I feel like Hip Hop is your cool ass uncle who's on verge of that mid life crisis.  

I want all you  "artists" out there both Hip Hop AND R&B to take heed to this:

You're fans and supporters LISTEN to you.  Give them something worth LISTENING TO.  Your music, your image, and your brand should be something you prepare for longevity.  After you have passed,  YOU will still be remembered for a great contribution to the music world.  I'm always amazed at the power artist have to CHANGE the way we think, speak, and live through their music.  Hey you wack ass garbage music making rappers, do you realize that through music you have that POWER?  Respect the art form and those who take this as life and not just a hobby.  You have people listening and doing as your lyrics,  ALWAYS remember that.

#Ignant Insight - BE READY FOR "IT"

If you don't take anything else from me and my #IgnantTruth rants, know this:

You have to, excuse me, YOU MUST, love who you are first and foremost.  That imperfect perfection, LOVE who you are FIRST and make no excuse for it.  Secondly, you must OWN IT! All of I, the good and the bad and yes even the embarrassing. Knowing that all comes with the territory makes it easier to own. Thirdly, gain some humility about yourself and check that damn pride.  This is not a sprint; it’s a long ass journey.  Rather you're a rapper, a singer, an entertainer, a brand or you just want to be seen and heard know that when you make the choice to step into the public eye, if you don’t have all of the things I spoke of in check, you will be exposed.   Make sure you are good with the reflection in the mirror.

Whatever your art form is, respect the "art" of it.  There are a lot of raggedy ass biters and naysayers trying to "come up" of what it is you do.  And what you do if it’s organic and true to hear it ultimately who you are.  Get those "yes men," "dream-killers," "dream-stealers," and all of those other cute names we call it AWAY FROM YOU.  Keep it from around you and know that EVERYTHING adds or subtracts VALUE. I value my art, my work, my brand, my network, DO YOU? Ask yourself that question and then decide.  So, what are you in IT for....?
