one beer, ten wings, and a shot of whiskey into the night and eli is beginning to relate deeply to the term liquid courage. there’s a breeze in the air ( or rather, a sour smell of the beer already spilled in the living room ) that’s told him: now is the time. and so, eli vogel makes what is possibly one of the riskiest moves of his life with a pabst blue ribbon ( garbage ) in one hand and a store brand ( still pretty good ) chocolate chip cookie in the other.
“Hey, hey-- Val,” the cookie is held firmly between his thumb and forefinger while the back of his hand taps flatly against the marshal’s shoulder. “You think I could steal you for a minute?”
