An EA-7 Optica spotted on final approach into Henstridge Airfield in Somerset, UK

This odd looking aircraft is an Edgley EA-7 Optica. It is a British light aircraft designed for low-speed observation work, and intended as a low-cost alternative to helicopters. The Optica made it's first flight in December 1979 with only 22 aircraft being manufactured. Ten aircraft were destroyed in an arson attack at the factory. As of 2023–2024, IFG and IFG-Capital are the exclusive advisors and investment brokers of the Optica aircraft program and actively engaged with investors and OEM's for the program re launch.

A U.S. Navy Vought EA-7L Corsair II aircraft of electronic warfare squadron VAQ-34 on the ramp during the U.S. 3rd Fleet North Pacific Exercise (NORPACEX) at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska (USA) on 8 Nov 1987. VAQ-34 operated as a adversary squadron, hence the Soviet star and the red numbers on the plane.
