hi friends ! i’m on a soft lip journey and thought it might be neat for me to share my opinions on all of the lip balms/ treatments that i’ve tried for anyone who might care. if you don’t care, pls scroll ty
here are my credentials :

Marin Lip Treatment
retails for $20 USD
starting off strong. i have the scents blueberry french toast and campfire s’mores and boyyy are they scrumptious. these are a clear tint with medium thickness. i love these treatments, i think they’re super hydrating and the moisturizing effects stay with your lips long after the actual treatment has absorbed fully. 10/10 recommend
Olehenriksen Pout Preserve Peptide Lip Treatment
retails for $23 USD
okay these are ridiculously popular for a reason. a good reason. i currently have the vanilla bonbon one but i’ve gone through a strawberry sorbet, a citrus sunshine, and a lingonberry jam. i have a long history with these and they’ve never failed me. vanilla bonbon is a clear tint and is a pretty thick consistency, as well as a teensy bit sticky. these are super hydrating and they will last on your lips for HOURS. i tend to use this when my lips are extra dry and have been neglected for a little while. 11/10
Eadem Le Chouchou Lip Balm
retails for $24 USD
these are also newly ridiculously popular for good reason. i have the shades butter mochi (clear tint) and sakura shaved ice (not pictured but really really pretty translucent pink); also went through a guava fresca. not only do these balms hydrate and moisturize but they also gently exfoliate your lips to get rid of all the dead skin. the eadem balms truly do it all and i love them sm. they’re on the thicker side but not sticky at all. i use this one at night A LOT bc i always wake up with super soft pillowy lips 100/10 LOVE these
Experiment Software Lip Treatment
retails for $16 USD
another favorite of mine. like the eadem balms, this one gently exfoliates your lips in addition to hydrating and leaves you with really soft lips. this one is pretty thick as well but not sticky and just sits really comfortably on the lips. unscented as well. 10/10
Violette FR Balm Amour
retails for $26 USD
i have less to say abt this one bc i haven’t used it quite as much. to put it simply, its just a lip balm and not really anything special. it is unscented and on the thinner side. idk its nice to have but its not one of my go tos
Paula’s Choice Pro-Collagen Peptide Plumping Gloss Balm Lip Treatment
retails for $24 USD
BIG fan of this one. i feel like this is really slept on. its nice and hydrating and lasts a long time. it also has a realllyyyyyy lovely vanilla scent to it. this has a very minimal pink tint, its probably a medium thickness and isn’t sticky. 9/10
Vitamasque Lip Mask
retails for $4.99 USD
i mean honestly for the price you have to try these. they’re insanely good. super moisturizing and last a long time. its a clear tint, medium thickness and not sticky. i have the sugar cookie one and it truly does smell like a freshly baked warm cookie. so good 10/10
Thirsty Cowboy Lip Butter
retails for $16.95 USD
okay here’s the thing. i wanted to love this so bad. they have such interesting scents and i just really wanted this to be good however i’m not a fan. i have it in cereal milk and i was so disappointed bc you can’t smell it at all. not to mention it doesn’t feel hydrating at all. it doesn’t last long and once its fully absorbed, your lips are right back to being dry and chapped. there is no lasting moisture there. its clear, thick and not sticky but not impressive at all. 4/10
Facile Lip Jelly
retails for $15 USD
this also isn’t really anything special. it feels nice while its on your lips but there isn’t any lasting hydration. its a clear tint, thinner consistency and a little sticky. 5/10
iota Táche Pistachio Milk Latte Lip Treatment (not pictured)
retails for $28 USD
i was so ready for this to be my number one like truly was SO excited but alas, i was highly disappointed. Its grainy and i hate the scent. it also has a green tint to it and honestly i don’t like anything abt it 2/10
Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm (not pictured)

i honestly don’t get the hype. these are a thin consistency and the scents are nice but they’re not anything to write home to mom abt. they’re medium consistency and not sticky but i don’t feel like they really do anything for my lips. 6/10
Dr. Idriss Exfoliating AHA Lip Treatment and Moisturizing Lip Balm (not pictured)

these are nice. the exfoliator works well but the balm isn’t anything super exciting. its a clear balm and thicker consistency and is unscented. 6/10
Laneige Lip Glowy Balm (not pictured)

does not deserve the hype at all. these are pretty and have nice scents but they’re almost dry your lips out instead of hydrating. these are thin and sticky. 2/10
Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment Nourishing Glaze (not pictured)

i don’t love these either. i will agree that the new formulations are MUCH better but still didn’t help my lips all that much. 6/10
Glossier Balm Dotcom Lip Balm (not pictured)

these are terrible and not the slightest but hydrating. these actually dried my lips out even more. i like the idea and some of the scents but these are just not good 1/10
