eaglesbecomevultures replied to your post: So I just ordered a Budda Superdrive 30.
The Superdrive 30 absolutely slays. It’s like an AC30 and a hot-rodded JCM800 had a child.
Yeah dude. I used to have a Superdrive 30 2x12 combo. I decided to go back to a Superdrive and bought the SD30 Head because I have a gnarly vintage Orange OR Lead 2x12. haha

I think thats just about every campus conservative group in Texas, haha. I remember the UNT Young Conservatives getting upset about similar stuff to the A&M group, but no one took them seriously at all, seeing as UNT is an incredibly liberal school.
The TAC are like regulars on Fox News. One of the downfalls of your school having decent national exposure and name recognition, especially as of late, is more people see how ridiculous some of the people are.
Also, the environment lets it flourish a little more where as most campuses would shut them down. TAC is a pretty big organization.
eaglesbecomevultures replied to your post: Email a conservative group on campus sent out to a ton of students today:
A&M being accused of being too liberal? Thats a new one, lol. Most of the kids I graduated high school with who identified as conservatives wound up going to A&M because its supposed to be a relatively safe haven for conservative students.
The Texas Aggie Conservatives is essentially the WBC of A&M. Like they don't like Danny Glover, but I'm sure they're cool with the Neo-Nazi that comes to campus to denounce affirmative action.
Did you ever figure out what the deal was with that "Passing The Scythe" song? I found it on lastfm and found guitar tabs for it, but I couldn't find an actual MP3 or any lyrics. Shit's weird.
No I never did. According to a few folks it's a mistake and it's not Thrice.
I just think it might be a little taboo covering two bands that are still around, albeit PTW never officially broken up. With that said, I still think they would be able to do a mean cover of Big Riff or something off of Jupiter.
Ah I guess I didn't think about that, the fact that they'd be covering bands that are still together (though Dustin has covered a bunch of artists that are still together). But I agree, they could really kick some ass with Jupiter material.
To my knowledge, Thrice hasn't covered any hardcore bands other than Minor Threat, so I think they should pay some more homage to their roots and do a Refused or Botch cover. I remember Dustin talked a lot about how much Botch influenced Major/Minor, but I still don't hear it, haha.
I think in the early stages they wanted to go in a more Botch route but I think things changed once they got into the actual writing process. And since Cave In and Poison The Well (among others) have been pretty influential to them I think those could work if they were gunning for paying homage. But I'd be the most curious about them doing Radiohead, though I think they might be too intimidated to do it.
