Rewatched Ever After High!
I WILL continue to defend Apple White. Note, I don't like her and I do find her annoying. But, come on, everyone in the world was manipulated to believe they HAD TO follow their destiny. The writers just couldn't decide if she was actually friends with Raven or not though. Also didn't have time or the courage to explore the fact that Apple is clearly a lesbian with comphet.
Raven X Apple makes more sense story-wise. I still think it is a little weird though. Yes, I know they're not related, but it's still a little bit messy for them to be together. And for Apple to want Raven to be her evil step-mom.
Apple X Darling are growing on me as a potential pairing, I just hate they didn't get any significant interactions before or even AFTER the "kiss" (kiss in quotes because Darling was trying to save Apple with mouth-to-mouth, but the destiny magic or whatever still counted it)
Raven X Dexter is actually a pretty cute ship, fight me
Ashlynn X Hunter could have been a good ship, especially since their relationship ties into the whole "fighting destiny" theme. They ended being way more bland than I remembered.
I would have killed to see more of Lizzie X Daring even if platonically because their dynamic is hilarious
The show should have explored the dynamics of the three Charming siblings more. Both Dexter and Darling's destinies are never fully established? It just seems they are generic prince and generic damsel. And what is Daring to do after finding out he isn't Apple's prince? This is such juicy content...
I hate Milton Grimm, and I think we moved on too quickly from everything he's done, especially Giles. Yeah, they're brothers but Milton really cursed and banished his own brother because of their disagreement over "destinies" when it's implied that they both knew no one HAD to follow their destinies.
Speaking of, where did the Storybook of Legends even come from? When does a story "start"? Like, if we're being accurate the new Rapunzel (either Poppy or Holly) should have been locked away since childhood. And Apple should have lost her mother ages ago as well... Seems like the "ending" is the only thing that matters? AND when endings are fulfilled, people are free to live however they want anyway.
Also, wouldn't the timelines be all messed up? It's been established that there are multiple generations of the fairy tales. So wouldn't that complicate things with enrolling future Sleeping Beauties since their stories state they must sleep for 100 years?
