February 27, 1982 - Earl Anthony, the smooth left-hander from Dublin, California became the first million-dollar winner in the history of the Professional Bowlers Association when he overcame a slow start and rolled five straight strikes to defeat Charlie Tapp to win the Toledo Trust, PBA National Championship.
