Closed RP - oui-monsieur-chamber and earl-albert-trancy
The young butler stood in the doorway to the lounge, tea-tray in hands, looking rather perplexed. Alphonse had been sent to fetch tea for the Viscount and his guest, only to return and find the room was not as he had left it. The difference being that the Viscount was no longer anywhere to be seen. He was tempted to back out and wait for his master's return, but it was too late; the Trancy Earl had spotted him. This man was the last person he wanted to engage in conversation with, but it seemed as if he had little choice on the matter. He hoped that the nobleman understood at least a little French. "E-excusez-moi," he stuttered, taking a step further into the room, "où est... où est Monsieur Chamber?"

"...Earl Albert Trancy."

"--Ah. Welcome to Weston College. Is there something I can assist you with?"
Drabble: Child. HAHAHA~
Sobbing.
Absolute and uncontrollable sobbing. The earsplitting cry that pierced the air, the shrieking of the dark-haired youth’s own soul as the soul of the broken child echoed through the velveteen hallways of the large Manor House. It was more than he could bear, but oh, he would bear it. He had born the burden for longer than he could remember now, and it was far too late to cease. If he allowed the weight to slip from his shoulder, he knew that the child would die. He shouldn’t have cared…he shouldn’t care now…but he did.
That was his first mistake.
When the Earl Trancy had first taken in the child, Ciel had known. He had known as well as Jim had known, as well as the other children had known. They were all very aware of why the elder had welcomed the small brunette into his home with such open arms; all but the child. Wide, beautiful, innocent eyes beheld such wonder and beauty that first day…only to behold the fires of hell that night. It was torture, and agony…as it was for all of them…oh, but he was so young. He was far too young to bear the burdens that the ancient sack of sagging bones had thrust upon him…inside him. A shudder ran through Ciel at the very thought. He couldn’t bear it. He couldn’t bear the idea of such a small, fragile child living in such a hell…and so he fell to weakness.
It was the very least that he could do, to comfort the child…and one moment of barely tangible comfort…one hesitant yet strong palm on the little one’s crown had spiraled into a fast and tight embrace, tiny tears staining the front of the ashen-locked boy’s tattered shirt…and that one simple embrace had tumbled into a torrent of familiarity and habitual actions that Ciel was not strong enough to break. Every night, he would hear the cries, and every night after, he would hear the sobbing…the horrific, heart-wrenching sobbing…shortly thereafter would follow the quiet footfalls once the Earl had sent the boy away, and mere moments would find the child in Ciel’s bed, his tiny, tiny frame wrapped around Ciel’s brittle one, shaking and freezing and all but broken. He couldn’t send him away. The most that he could do was thread his pale fingers through the boy’s soft auburn locks, soothing him with his silent strength, so admired by the smaller, until he was strong enough himself to speak. When he spoke, it was soft and calm, innocent once more…as though untainted by the darkness that surrounded him.
“…Ciel…?” The boy murmured with wide, doe-like eyes.
“…What is it, Luka?” Ciel responded.
“…What happens when we grow up…?”
This question gave Ciel pause, evident in the soft furrow of his thin brows and the pause of his frail hand. “…What do you mean by that?” He asked quietly, well aware of the others in the room that were still sleeping, including the favoured blond lying at his other side, the visible vertebrae of his spine pressed to Ciel’s for warmth.
“…Well…everyone grows up, right? That’s what Big Brother said…but…I don’t see any grown ups here that aren’t in servant’s clothes! Only other kids! And…the oldest kids I’ve seen…are you, and Big Brother…” Soft chocolate tipped upward to drown the icy azure that bore down upon the child, pale lips pursed to the smaller’s gaze. He…did not have an answer to that. No one grew up here…no one passed a certain age…an age that Ciel and Jim were nearing far too quickly…
…but Luka needn’t know that. No…no. “…When you grow up…” The older boy answered carefully. “…You will be strong. You will be strong enough to leave this place.” The smaller was only too quick to smile brightly in response. “You mean like you, and Big Brother?!” He grinned, but that expression of joy soon fell to despair, his quiet voice cracking with terror. “…You…you’re not…going to leave me, are you…?” Tears brimmed in his large eyes, his grip on Ciel’s shirt tightening terribly. “Please…! Ciel, don’t leave me! Don’t! Not you, and Big Brother…!”
“Shhh…” He quieted the boy by returning to his motions at his scalp, his voice soft, lilting, soothing. “…We won’t leave you, Luka…I won’t leave you.” A filthy face was buried in his paper-thin chest, soft jaw tightening against the fury building within his breast.
This…was no place to raise a child…neither was it a proper way…or a proper person to do so with. The child was dragged by the Earl Trancy, and ran to Ciel…he needed support, and stability, and love. He could not find those things here. Ciel didn’t plan to have his life end in this place…but neither did he plan to allow Jim and Luka to die here. When Ciel escaped…he would not do so without the other two boys…especially the tiny child in his arms.
After all…every parent’s dream when raising a child was to see him grow strong…wasn’t it?

✎: For two confessions from my muse to yours.
“…I suppose…that I should confess to the fact that I’m lying to myself about my intentions regarding the former Earl of Trancy.” The boy began softly, not wishing to touch on this subject too deeply. “I have recently come into contact with him…and I plan to put a stop to his madness, and make him pay for his sins…however, my reasoning is deeply entwined with your torment, and I should confess to both you and myself that much. I wish to make him pay for what he committed against you.”
“…And my second confession would be that I do not know myself just why I desire to do so.”
