“…I’ll need to contact my uncle and make arrangements. He’s… Influential. Perhaps not enough to cover this but he can make the crime less serious… Tamper with the evidence so to speak..” He wasn’t sure exactly what the older Druitt was able to do but in all honesty after what he had seen… It must surely be lofty influence. He was scared. He couldn’t lie about that but he was a damned good actor all the same.
"That's... that's good." He's not exactly sure he wants to know how his uncle is going to pull that off, as much scandal as the Viscount has been in. "I think. Your Uncle... The Viscount of Druitt... he kind of scares me. Just a bit." He laughs, but it's forced; trying to lighten the mood. Anything so that he doesn't have to think about any of the Prefects going to prison or being sentenced to death. When he lifts his head once more, he searches Redmond's eyes and holds his gaze for a few moments. "Everything will be okay. It has to be."
[I think the Prefects’ fags are going to need a support group after this.]
pls all u guys need is some curry.
if i die u can bury me in curry ok
[I think the Prefects' fags are going to need a support group after this.]
He remained quiet for long seconds before he sought to reach and settle one hand on the boys shoulder. Not too invasive but not too impersonal either. “I didn’t lie to you, you simply never asked.” He explained quietly. Edgar didn’t consider omission lying, as crimson hues gazed at the floor through thick, dark-blond lashes. “If I am taken in by the police then I expect you to be prefect in my stead.” He failed to elaborate that he was sure if only he could contact his uncle in time he might be able to utilise his connections, but…
"M-Me? But I-- I'm not a leader. I'm not like you. I could never fill your shoes," he bows his head, though the hand on his shoulder does give him some comfort. Joanne suddenly has this horrible pit in his stomach as images of Edgar and the other Prefects being dragged away to prison by authorities flashes before his eyes. He shakes the thought away. No. It couldn't happen. Joanne couldn't afford to think like that right now. Almost subconsciously, the boy leans forward, forehead plunking against his Prefect's chest in subtle defeat. "--What's going to happen now? I don't... want you to go."
Wow, this has been one of the most frightening and simultaneously shocking chapters I’ve read…ever. I’m in my dad’s office right now using the spare computer so I’m afraid I can’t make new icons (computer won’t letme download new chap) nor write my thoughts properly till tomorrow afternoon when I’m back home (I stay helping my dad at work now on Thursdays and Fridays, sleeping over). Frustrating, but hey.

IF EVERYONE DIES I'M GOING TO CRY.
[basically me right now.]
Don't leave me
His lips were frozen where smooth talk would normally fall forth. He recalls those few times where they had secretive touched with no real idea of what they were to each other. What they wanted… All those moments made his chest ache. “I think I might have even loved you.” The words were spoken soft and apologetically as if to explain why he had sheltered the blond from his reasons.
He doesn't want to leave. He really doesn't and Redmond's words, even as soft-spoken as they are, doesn't make it any easier on the younger blond. He can feel tears, hot and stinging, at the corners of his eyes. "M-- Me too," his reply is just as soft, if not a little more heart-stricken, because it hits him even harder with the realisation that he really does hold such deep feelings for his Prefect. "I want to stay," he admits slowly. "I do. I just-- I don't want to be lied to. Or sheltered. I want--" he pauses. I want to protect you, too.
“…I see.” In that case there was only two ways to go about this. Eliminate Joanne, and Phantomhive or… “If you no longer wish to be a prefect’s fag then please leave any items you have borrowed in my room by tomorrow at the latest.” There was this only, other option. Joanne could simply fade back into the student body. Insignificantly. “I’m..” He almost said sorry, then hesitated.
Redmond is right and it would be in Joanne's best interest if he simply backed out now while he still could rather than stick around with the very likely possibility that he'd end up like Derek at one point or another. He shivers involuntarily at the thought. There's a part of him that hates this -- that feels somewhat betrayed. He really respected Redmond, after all. "...Oh. T-Then... I guess I will take my leave..." Maybe Maurice Cole really was more suited to be Redmond's fag. He doesn't have to apologise aloud for Joanne to know what he means. "--I'm sorry, too."
loook! foxes :]
Congratulations Joanne you managed to keep your trousers clean throughout all this surprising stuff.
"--S-Shut up! You're not funny!"
“Joanne.” The words were firm and crisp. He bristled at the unfairness of it all, it wasn’t even him who had dealt the first blow. He had only come up with the idea of how to cover such activity. He was just… Acting in the best interests of everybody. “We didn’t want them to die. We tried to bring them back… But..”
Everything feels like a lie, and yet at the same time Joanne's simultaneously become aware that Edgar and the others are capable of killing. As much as he doesn't want to think about it, he should probably keep that in mind when speaking to them. He doesn't want to give them any reason to off him, too. There are so many things wrong with this situation. "... I'm not going to pretend I understand your motives and reasonings behind it, because I don't. But I'm just..." he bites his lip, "Scared. I don't want anyone else to get hurt."
T I: well
T I: at the very least soma doesn't seem in any immediate danger
T I: joanne managed not to shit himself
♕ Soma: omg
“…” He opens his mouth, about to remark that it wasn’t his idea in the first place. Except that more a lie than a truth, as he had willingly taken part in the heinous deed.
“—I cannot. It holds my deepest regret— but— we tried… to revive him…” Faltering, the bluenette heaves a heavy sigh, gaze lowering to the floor in shame.
"Yeah-- and he took a chunk out of Greenhill." Not that he can really blame Derek. If Joanne had been turned into that he probably would have too. "What's-- What's going to happen to you and the other Prefects? Derek was Her Majesty's cousin, after all. "
“Joanne, it… Was unavoidable. You should understand that of all people.”
"...But I can't. I can't understand. I don't see how anyone can justify taking someone's life. You could have not killed him. I don't know what to think anymore. I don't... I don't know if I can trust you, Redmond."
“I had it covered so well…”
"...You-- You killed him. You and the other Prefects. You killed Derek. Why?"
“… It was for good reason.”
"--How can you justify killing a student?!"
