Some early versions
Just found this out, there are times I show my brother what I’m working on in chat and he’ll critique some stuff I need to change to improve the art. Here are some of the early versions of the commission I made that I sent to him before the final version.
1. There was a time I was planning to fill the background with plants, obviously there would still be white spaces but I thought this drawing could easily be turned into a nightscape if there was less clutter but in the end, I decided to go with the golden afternoon.
2. MC has too much hair. I was going full shojo style here initially but then I realized that that it doesn’t feel right. And the amount of times I changed the size of her head in this drawing, I can’t remember that anymore.
3. This one. I felt like his head was way too low and it was impossible to put all MC’s head under his chin like that. It’s like Mitsuhide’s head is not attached to his neck at all so that was changed.
