A light breeze carried through the trees surrounding Rivendale. Beautiful, tall trees towered protectively over the well crafted buildings and for the first time in months Aragorn felt a sense of peace wash over him. He needn’t search for a reason, he could sense the presence of the Elvish Princess. An Elf-woman of unsurpassed grace and beauty, with eyes as pure and bright as the sea of Nurnen before the Dark Lord had tainted it.
For months, Aragorn had been in the thick of battle. Fighting along side the men of Rohan and Gondor under a name that did not belong to him. Thorongil, was a name that had already become legend and Aragorn did not wait around for the victory celebration. He was not ready, and he was afraid he would be found out immediately. There was so much he still needed to learn and he did not wish to give the Kingdom false hope. Estel was still the name he preferred, though many now within Rivendale addressed him by his given name. He still didn’t feel like it belonged to him.
All of his self doubt floated away with the breeze as he caught sight of Arwen. A soft smile rounded his eyes with crinkles as he approached her. “Lady Arwen.” he greeted and bowed his head, folding his hands in front of him.
