I just finished reading this gem. I now there is another book in the series and I will try to get my hands on it tomorrow.

I started reading it after researching the term Solarpunk for quite a while and fond this as one of the books you could read on the subject. While the book shows a very serious and frightening future for humankind the main story of a book follows a brave woman who is determined that there Must be a way to move on from this. She has a strong vision and courage and begins to search this broken world for alternative ways to live and look at life.

I found it very comforting to read it at a time when a big part of the world seems to move in the wrong direction. People can change their ways and affect what's happening.

Octavia E. Butler writes in a beautiful and honest way that makes you connect with all of her characters. I'm sad I didn't read her works while she was still alive. Read it if you get the chance!
