I like to imagine that when Rumble died from the ejection failure all the damage from the internal explosion also incredibly devastated Soundwave 🤔 it just kinda makes sense. And SDW may not have even known about Rumble’s death until after he woke during recovery… no I’m not making this to punch you guys 🙄 it’s just my speculations and imagination.. permanent spark damage is the most logical thing I could think of for internal damage considering the proximity too…. Not to sound like Shockwave or anything tho
