Finally booked my tickets to go see my parents and my sister at Easter. Haven't seen them since Christmas and I'm actually home for my dad's birthday for once (I think I've been home for maybe 3 birthdays with him in the last 15 years).

Finally booked my tickets to go see my parents and my sister at Easter. Haven't seen them since Christmas and I'm actually home for my dad's birthday for once (I think I've been home for maybe 3 birthdays with him in the last 15 years).
My dad coordinating a time for the family to get together to decorate Easter eggs and watch Jesus Christ Superstar.
Pain, going to family Easter where they tell me Jesus died because he loves be, BUT he hates lgbt community so...
My Easter holiday plans to be a combination of prop sourcing, lighting journal and booking a large number of tickets for a ridiculous number of shows that are coming up that I want to see!
I had to get a root canal today. The procedure itself was painless, but now my tooth is sensitive to the pressure of biting down on the temporary filing, and my jaw is sore and hard to move. I'm exhausted. The endodontist said the pain and swelling will get worse over the next four days, but better after that. So I requested the weekend off and am anticipating spending Easter weekend high af, safely on my couch.
I’m really looking forward to seeing Sorcha tomorrow for lunch and a cinema trip. I like going to Dublin at the weekends too, it’s nice to have time there that isn’t completely tainted by work.
We’re going to see 10 Cloverfield Lane, and I am PUMPED. I’m also tempted to get wings and sweet potato fries at lunch. Such a wild and exciting life I lead!
Good things about the upcoming week include:
- Payday on Wednesday. YAAAAAAAAS. I will (hopefully!) be able to get my hair done next weekend as a result.
-Next weekend is Easter weekend, so I have Friday off work, as well as the following Monday. A FOUR DAY WEEKEND. BLISS. It might mean everything is closed, which possibly means putting off getting my balayage, but even so. FOUR. DAY. WEEKEND.
-Eavan is making me dinner in her house on Good Friday. I like hanging out in Dundalk, it makes me feel a bit more connected to things here (even though usually I angle to disconnect myself as much as possible, because I am awful). But she is making chicken risotto and I’m bringing wine (which I will have to remember to buy before Friday because you can’t buy alcohol on Good Friday in Ireland. I shit you not) and she is making a surprise dessert and it will be blissful.
-Hopefully finally getting to see David now that he has finished his exams and will be done with his visit home. I don’t know yet when he is going back up to Dublin, but I’m hoping to see him on Wednesday or Thursday after work. I am seriously excited, I’ve missed him so much the past few weeks and can’t wait to give him the biggest hug ever.
-SARAH IS COMING HOME ON EASTER SUNDAY. After three weeks in Palestine and Syria, she is finally coming home for a few months! I am beyond excited. I only got to see her like, twice when she was home for Christmas, and considering all the craziness that was going on then and my close-to-mental-breakdown at that point, I’m just glad to have the chance to have some actual fun with her. We’re going on a trip to Belfast on Easter Monday and that should be fab. THERE IS A FIVE GUYS IN BELFAST. YAAAAS. I’ve only been to Belfast a few times, which is weird because it’s just as close to Dundalk as Dublin. It’ll be cool to explore it a bit more.
Friends is what life is all about, lads. I’m positively glowing at the thought of seeing them this week!
People are asking what am I doing for Easter
One thing is for sure, I'm not joining a massive traffic jam trying to leave the city environs! I will ride my bike and walk the dog. I might have a go at making hot cross buns from scratch on Friday because commercial ones are so pappy, tasteless and gut-bloating. I will paint faces on big eggs with my grown-up kids on Saturday (if they agree to join me!) On Sunday, we'll crack the eggs for a lunchtime salad and doubtless eat chocolate too. What are you doing?
So you know what's awkward? Being invited to eat on Easter in the home of someone who is literally on their deathbed
