With Bodega's hot cross buns, you can enjoy a tasty take on the classic burger. You can eat these sweet and savory burgers for Easter or whenever you want a different kind of burger.
Ingredients: 4 Bodega's hot cross buns. 1 lb 450g ground beef. 4 slices of cheddar cheese. 1 red onion, thinly sliced. 4 leaves of lettuce. 4 slices of tomato. 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise. 4 tablespoons of ketchup. 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat. While the grill is heating, divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Place the burger patties on the grill or pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare burgers, or longer for your desired level of doneness. During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover with a lid to melt the cheese. While the burgers are cooking, split the Bodega's hot cross buns and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster. Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl to create a special sauce. To assemble the burgers, spread the special sauce on the bottom half of each hot cross bun. Place a leaf of lettuce and a slice of tomato on top of the sauce. Next, add the cooked burger patty with melted cheese and top it with red onion slices. Finish by placing the top half of the hot cross bun on the burger. Serve your Bodega's Hot Cross Bun Burgers immediately and enjoy!
