wait.... since when do they have grocery stores where cashiers can sit? I've seen ONE grocery store like that in the us and it's not a very... common, for lack of a better word, store. like, it doesn't have a lot of locations like Walmart and such. is that a thing outside of the US??

no no thats exactly the point, they CANT sit, but in denmark every grocery store cashier has a seat. as an ex-grocery store cashier, i can inform you that we will stand up just to stretch our legs, but yeah, we have chairs for that purpose. now i work in a kiosk so i stand up all day.

people in America get fired for being pregnant all the time. I'm not even sure if it's illegal! as long as you're an "at will" employee, you can be fired anytime, for any reason, without any explanation. unless you can argue that it was discriminatory (like bc of race/sexuality/etc) it's totally legal. once I read an article that said "your boss can literally say "I don't like that your favorite color is purple, you're fired" and be completely in the right"

oh my god that is so terrible? that shit sounds like it should be on a show called Liberalism Gone Wrong. otoh i get a feeling that you wouldnt even have a strong case if you did drag your employer to court over them firing you based on race or sexuality. i mean, look at this Mess Of A Country.
