Playing Huntdown was a happy unplanned coincidence owing to the fact that the game’s publisher Coffee Stain roomed with my favorite unpublisher Raw Fury. 

While I was unsuccessful at forcing the Fury guys to let go of anything new about The Last Night, I did sit down with Swedish developer Easy Trigger Games and ogled over what’s easily in the top of 16-bit style pixel art I’ve seen (at GDC or in general). 

Huntdown oozes with Mega Drive/SNES/VHS spirit and plays just the same: run and gun and platform and be a badass in a gang-infested world. Preferably in co-op. Well, why don’t you see for yourself:

Huntdown fija su fecha de lanzamiento para el 12 de mayo en PC y consolas.

La editora Coffee Stain Publishing y la desarrolladora Easy Trigger Games han anunciado que Huntdown, su retro shooter arcade cooperativo, se lanzará el próximo 12 de mayo para PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, Xbox One y Nintendo Switch.

Acerca del juego:

El crimen no es buen negocio… A menos que seas un cazarrecompensas.

En un futuro en el que las calles llenas de caos están bajo el control de pandillas criminales y la policía no se atreve a intervenir, solo los cazarrecompensas pueden liberar a la ciudad de las garras de la corrupción. Acaba con el bajo mundo criminal en este juego de disparos estilo arcade cargado de acción y comedia.

Características principales:

• Lánzate al ataque solo o dispara y avanza hacia el enemigo en modo cooperativo. Dispara, corre, salta y ocúltate en los paisajes urbanos llenos de neón y tapizados de grafiti de los años 80.

• Los gráficos pixelados de 16 bits pintados a mano y las animaciones dibujadas a mano se combinan con una jugabilidad fluida de 60 FPS llena de acción y una épica banda sonora de sintetizadores.

• Caza todo tipo de criminales: desde punks salvajes hasta hooligans de hockey organizados. Este juego está plagado de tipos malos y jefes criminales de 16 bits, cada uno con su propio terreno y un arsenal de armas que puedes arrebatarles.
