Little Oink.

Colourful, kitsch and child-friendly - Little Oink at the local Cook Shops,ticks all the right boxes for a beautiful breakfast treat. 

The fit out features brightly painted pallet tables, with a mish-mash of furniture and adorable teapots on display. With a short and sweet menu, the focus of the venue plays on the pig theme with multiple vegetarian options thrown in the mix. 

A modern version of an egg and bacon roll stands out; filled with smoky bacon, double eggs, cheese, avocado and tomato relish on a brioche bun. The ‘get in my pork belly’, a fun play on words highlights slow roasted pork belly with tomato, potato hashbrown and a fried egg with a side of apple relish. For those with a sweet tooth, the ‘parlez vous francais toast’ is a wonderful creation of brioche french toast topped with toasted coconut mascarpone, passionfruit coulis and candied pineapple.

With friendly service, amazing coffee and a delightful selection of cakes, Little Oink is a treasured icon of the Cook Shops.

High Tea at The Burbury.

Really elevate Mother’s Day with a high tea at The Burbury Hotel. For $50 or $60 with champagne, guests can enjoy a three-tiered platter of sweet and savoury treats to share between two. For a touch of tradition to your early morning try Breizh Cafe where there delicately thin french crepes come in a range of flavours and toppings from savoury to sweet. While other cities have been providing elegant brunch dining options for some time, this is one of the first to hit the capital. Petit Feast offers a bountiful spread of delicious treats to kick-start the weekend with a complimentary glass of rosé or sparkling for $65. 

For those in the mood, or looking to celebrate an extra $15 provides bottomless mimosa’s.

While it may seem that petit feast sounds small in size, do not let the name fool you. Guests can dine on fresh oysters, buttery quiches, flavour-filled finger sandwiches, mini pies, lemon tarts, custard profiteroles and strawberry friands. If that’s not enough to get your mouth-watering, then delicious tiramisu rounds out the meal.
