We get more calories in a couple of mouthfuls of modern food than we might have managed all day in the Stone Age. The trouble is that our bodies and brains are set up for life in a different time. We naturally enjoy chewing and eating constantly. It is only human to want to eat everything in front of us. We then sit and do nothing if we possibly can. All in bid to conserve energy. Forty thousand years ago these actions would have made us survive and have healthy children. In the 21st century these actions will kill us off early and will make our children sick.
