„Eiserne Wildnis – Heart of the Beast“
Brad Pitt and director David Ayer are working together again. Your new film is called “Iron Wilderness – Heart of the Beast”. The survival thriller sends Pitt into the Alaskan wilderness with a dog. A new trailer now gives a more detailed preview of the film.
Brad Pitt plays former Special Forces soldier James Belmont, who is stranded in the remote Alaskan wilderness after a plane crash with his attack dog Odin. Cut off from the outside world, the two not only have to assert themselves against nature, but also increasingly find themselves in a bitter fight for survival.
The focus should be on the relationship between humans and animals. Director David Ayer describes the dog not just as a companion, but as an independent character. The shared past of Belmont and Odin should play an important role in the story.
According to Ayer, “Heart of the Beast” relies much more heavily on an intimate story and the remote landscape.
In addition to Brad Pitt, J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe can be seen. The screenplay is by Cameron Alexander.
The theatrical release of “Iron Wilderness – Heart of the Beast” is scheduled for September 24, 2026.

Brad Pitt spielt den ehemaligen Special-Forces-Soldaten James Belmont, der nach einem Flugzeugabsturz gemeinsam mit seinem Kampfhund Odin in der abgelegenen Wildnis Alaskas strandet. Abgeschnitten von der Außenwelt müssen sich die beiden nicht nur gegen die Natur behaupten, sondern geraten zunehmend in einen erbitterten Kampf ums Überleben.
Im Zentrum soll dabei vor allem die Beziehung zwischen Mensch und Tier stehen. Regisseur David Ayer beschreibt den Hund nicht lediglich als Begleiter, sondern als eigenständigen Charakter. Die gemeinsame Vergangenheit von Belmont und Odin soll entsprechend eine wichtige Rolle in der Geschichte spielen.
„Heart of the Beast“ setzt laut Ayer deutlich stärker auf eine intime Geschichte und die abgeschiedene Landschaft.
Neben Brad Pitt sind unter anderem J.K. Simmons und Anna Lambe zu sehen. Das Drehbuch stammt von Cameron Alexander.
Der Kinostart von „Eiserne Wildnis – Heart of the Beast“ ist für den 24. September 2026 vorgesehen.

In “Heart of the Beast,” Brad Pitt plays former soldier James Belmont, who fights for survival in the Alaskan wilderness with his loyal German Shepherd. After a plane crash, people and animals have to overcome raging rivers, wild animals and the extreme conditions of nature to get back to civilization.
The film is a survival adventure that shows both action-packed scenes and emotional moments between Pitt and his dog.
According to director David Ayer, “Uber” aka “Odin” survives. A clear plus for animal lovers to watch the film. I feel too much for dogs (animals in general) when things end tragically.
I'm looking forward to this film. It will be released in German cinemas on September 24th.
