Jacquard

Garak, cultured as he is, hadn’t the slightest clue who or what Jacquard was until fairly recently. His first exposure to the term was by a Starfleet officer taking some shore leave on DS9. She had spoken excitedly about fabrics and weaving and eventually let the term “Jacquard” drop into her conversation.
Of course, neither Garak’s Federation Standard Vocabulary nor the universal translator could make heads or tails of it until she delightedly explained to him what she meant.
Garak then went ahead and told her that what she called ‘Jacquard weaving’ was even more ancient than she previously believed, citing early Hebitians as the inventors of the process on Cardassia. Unfortunately, before he could go into a full explanation to the fascinated lieutenant, she was called back to her ship.
He still keeps in touch with the young lieutenant, whom he privately calls the “Jacquard human.”

well obviously, Care being an OC, I have no problems with writing OCs or interacting with OCs
I have come across people that are biased against female OCs though and it made me disgusted to play male canon characters for a bit because I was seeing people follow all my male muses but NONE of my female muses (both canon and OC)
