❝ I FUCKIN’ DID NOT!! YOU LOCKED ME OUT, YOU LITTLE SHIT!! C’MERE! ❞
@eatsdemons just a casual night with the brothers
❝ Little BITCH think he can lock me outta the damn HOUSE?? You got a real shit storm comin’! ❞
@eatsdemons asked: Genya isn't supposed to be here, but thankfully he has a partner in crime in a certain Kakushi that's allowed most places. Genya places a glass container on the engawa somewhere it'll be noticed; it's filled with dirt and a layer of leaves... a perfect little habitat for the rhinoceros beetle larvae that resides in it. The hobby was one his brother enjoyed when they were younger (and truly Genya didn't know if Sanemi still had any interest in it...) so he only hopes that the gift doesn't go unnoticed. He is long gone before Sanemi is anywhere near his estate again. || unprompted birthday ask!
By the time he gets back to his estate, the sun is past the tree line. He’s spent most of the day training, finding a secluded area to spend his time working on his forms. Running them with muscle memory, until he could no longer lift his sword due to exhaustion. He walks the steps up onto the engawa and is about to slide open the door to his home when something catches his eye. Something reflecting the moonlight. He hesitates, staring at it for a long while before a tired arm reaches down and picks it up.
As he looked inside, it felt like he was launched into a long forgotten memory that he buried with his sadness and loss. A memory of him and Genya, playing in the dirt outside of their home. Picking through the leaves and attempting to find the little bugs they were looking for. Sanemi’s small fingers wrap around the larvae, holding it out for his younger brother to see. There’s a look of confusion, and then a look of interest. Sanemi then spills every fact he knew about rhinoceros beetles. All the ones he learned in the book he once begged his mother to read to him. There’s laughter in between the facts. Perks of no way! and that’s so cool! Then, the two run back into the house, where their mother was holding the youngest sibling. She always had a look of disgust when the boys came back dirty, and even more so when they presented their findings. Yet, in that sweet, motherly voice, their mother instructed them to return the larvae back to its mother. Because taking a baby from a mother is wrong to do.
Sanemi blinks, feeling himself lost in time. He looks around quickly, wondering if anyone saw the actions his. Holding the glass container, Sanemi slips inside his estate. He plans to keep the larvae until it grew into a beetle, and then he hopes that it will continue to live in his backyard amongst the plants that grow wildly. Silently, he thinks of Genya, and wonders if it was his little brother that got him the gift. Hopefully not, because then he would have to do the unthinkable.
inosuke beams a rock at @eatsdemons from across the way.
❝ If you keep doin’ that, you’ll call someone we don’ want. ❞ Sanemi mutters as he comes over the hill. He had left for the time being to the nearby market. Their food was running low, and with it close to being a full moon, Sanemi thought it was a good idea to restock their travel sack of food. Genya, of course, couldn’t sit still for the life of him, and was running around their small campsite in his wolf form, howling.
