Nix looked down at the broken blade upon the ground and the hilt still in Yuji’s hand. It did appear to be an accident but he did have a valid concern. Maki wasn’t going to be thrilled to have a broke weapon on her hands. Not that she was aware that the teenager had broken another before this one. The blade was carefully picked off the ground and an idea came to mind! Not something silly like trying to glue it back together. That sort of repair would be spotted in no time at all and would make the situation worse. No, this a much simpler idea that would take the cross-hairs off Yuji.

“I imagine Maki will be furious when she finds out.. So here is my idea! Hand me the rest of the cursed tool and I’ll tell her I did it. I’m inexperienced enough with these sort of weapons that I’m sure she’ll believe me if I told her I borrowed it on the sly.” Perfect plan right?
