So I went looking for the episodes around the day Link mentioned his last journal entry (November 5, 2013)... Guess what episode aired the day before that?
The infamous News Musical: Wedding Fail
I... I didn't anticipate that.

Okay, Rhett driving off and leaving Link is pretty jackass behaviour, but the fact he stopped and chose to WALK back, and more than that, that Link saw that not only as a symbol of being forgiven by his friend but being forgiven by God?! I... do they recognise how crazy strong a bond two people have to have to feel like that
I đź’ś (2) Internet daddies who have gone through so much together.
Rhett's hit hard because you can just hear the raw despair of his logical walls being broken down at the realization that everything he thought he believed in may not be true. Link turned his pain and anguish inward on himself and just metaphorically kept gutting himself, it was brutal to listen to but i'm so proud and happy of who they turned out to be:-)
And that’s a perfect way to see how different their brains work.
I really hurt for them, but their journey got them here, and for that we’re all thankful.
Did anyone else hear “get out of the car” and start crying. Because I legitimately had to pause my entire life to sob for a minute.
What struck me most was hearing the emotion in his voice when he told those two stories from when he was a kid, it’s so long ago but obviously still affecting him, made me a little sad :(
There were a few times where he got really choked up and it made me cry. Both of those stories, when he talked about not being able to handle sitting in church knowing his friends couldnt get married there? Talking about the time right after Christy’s injury?Â
Goodness. It was a lot.Â
This is a story of a true Christian who believed for nearly three decades, having grown up the son of evangelical missionary parents, later becoming a missionary himself. Yet he slowly lost his faith and now no longer holds it.
Link’s rec in episode 227 is a book he read during his spiritual deconstruction.Â
Also since Link said it, I have to include a gif.
