Pishh, pishh, pishh.
The sound of waves crashing over each other
in a rush to reach the shore. Adaline let the
waves crumble over her feet, not fearing the
waters like normal. A small smile crossed
her lips,
“Ne, Lyny?”
---“Yeah?”
“What’s it like t' swim?”
---“It’s kind of nice, I suppose?”
“I ne'er learned, even before I had
my powers, I ne'er knew how t' swim.”
---“I remember. Kind of silly to go
---out to sea without being able to swim.”
“Ah, ye know me, I didn’ plan on nearly
drownin' in th' first week.”
Laughter bubbled out of his mouth, and the
redhead sat up to look at his captain.
---“Just like I didn’t plan on becoming a
---pirate.”
Now it was Adaline’s turn to laugh, toes curling as
she attempted to hold her giggles back.
“Yeah, but ye still joined m' anyway. What
made ye join?”
---Your beauty. Your courage. Your strength.
---You.
None of this was said aloud, instead he huffed and
crossed his arms.
---“I lost the bet, remember?”
“Nahaha, yeah tha’s right, ye did didn’ ye?”
---“Hm. You sure are forgetful, captain.”
“Hai hai, sure 'm. That’s why ’m glad I’ve got you.
Ye 'member more things than I can. 't’s thanks to
ye tha' I don’t go crazy.”
A light smile slid onto the sniper’s lips.
---“Anytime, captain, anytime.”
