the only horror movie east had seen in the past 5 years was 'midsommar'. after that one… he needed an extended break. the man had never been very brave, and although he often kept up a cool exterior around his classmates and colleagues, horror was something that broke his composure nearly without fail. with an anomaly that depended on his emotions and reacted to his heart rate, he tended to stray away from anything that could put him in any… awkward situations.
but today was the day he was going to face his fears. he was going to grow stronger, begin his anime-protagonist training montage, and emerge on the other side a manly, macho bro. someone who would stay visible, even in the scariest of times. (at least, that’s what he convinced himself he was going to do). and it was going to begin with horror movies.
sure, it was broad daylight. and sure, nothing scary was supposed to start this early in the afternoon. but everyone’s gotta start somewhere! and east figured he could ease into it today. alone. because who else was going to come watch horror movies this early? it was the perfect plan.
until the movie actually started.
east sat up front. (suicide, he knows). but he wanted to feel immersed, like he was actually in the movie! although, he regretted it about 5 minutes into the opening sequence when a simple scene change inadvertently jumpscared him into his invisibility. he was definitely feeling on edge. he sighed, taking a couple deep breaths to calm himself down.
this was going to be a long movie.
