*long post warning* I don’t even think I can begin to describe the feelings I’ve had after this weekend. All I can say is that I love this crazy team so much and they have literally revitalized my love for dance and creating art. So much has happened in 2.5 years and we have crawled and scratched and fought our way back to the top. It has been 10 years since a DMV team has won ECDC and @capitalfunk was that team. I watched them win it back then in 2007, and now a decade later I find myself feeling what they felt: pure joy and love and fulfillment. Yesterday, during our pre-performance prayer, it was said that “every 8-count is a blessing”. I am so happy to be alive and sharing this with truly wonderful people. Bringing the W back to the DMV has never felt so good and I am constantly reminded that love wins always. @alexxpark_ and @seankelly095 i love you guys so much. You have been amazing mentees and watching you both grow and bond with the team is an amazing sight to see. Thank you to @cultureshockdc for all the years you gave me. I will always be thankful for the training and the memories and the support. Last but certainly not least, i just wanna thank my Fianceé @jessjacbenimble for allowing me to grow with her. We’ve created amazing art together and I am so much better of a person because I have you constantly pushing me (and scolding me) to pursue my love of dance hahahaha.
