Ah yes, beautiful beautiful Echo. I feel sorry for the other ships cuz this one is top notch!
Oh boy, that was quite the Echo episode, wasn’t it? (Let’s ignore the terrifying, disturbing non-Echo scenes that shall not be named)
After such a drought, we finally drink! I never dreamed we’d get so much tonight.
We got flirting and awkwardness and Max’s subpar Spanish skillz. Liz was unsure, shy, excited, and Max was confident and charming, all things that we missed out on the first time around.
We got a first date. They never got a real first date, but here we have Max’s amnesia giving them a do over. Your OTP could never.
We got Isobel and Michael helping Max getting ready for his date. Family. Sigh.
We got HORSEBACK RIDING! I REPEAT MAX AND LIZ WENT HORSEBACK RIDING. The romance. I ache.
We got romantic campfire telling of deepest, darkest secrets. Liz opening up to him in a way she never had before, and Max being so raw and emotional, I wanted to set myself on fire.
We got more sentimental Max in the form of him keeping the bullet. It’s a bullet, something that almost killed Liz, why is that romantic? I don’t know… BUT IT IS.
We got an amazing milkshake story. It was alarming when Max didn’t like mint, but then the reason was so freaking breathtakingly beautiful… maybe one of my favorite details ever of his adolescent Liz crush. He drank those mint milkshakes for years just because she remembered his mistaken order.
We got a beautiful, tearful reunion. Swoon. Right there under the Crashdown sign. Just tattoo the look on Liz’s face when she realizes Max remembers her, on my back, thanks.
We got Max explaining why he did what he did. That damn do-gooder just wanted to fix what had gone wrong in her life, in their lives, like an otherwordly, alien-god boyfriend should.
We got sexy kisses. Hungry kisses. Sweet kisses. All the kisses!
We got I LOVE YOU. Liz finally has her opportunity to tell the man she’s in love with, the man she brought back from the dead just so she could have one minute to tell him she loved him, that she’s in love with him and forgot. And it was perfect.
And we got Max being able to shake off the Liz amnesia and that in turn (probably) shaking lose some of his other pre-crash memories. Buckle up.
DAMN IT WAS GOOD.
