PROMPT 8

Searching the hashtag #picturebooks on Twitter, was a completely different experience to the Tumblr hashtag. I found that the Twitter search had a lack of colour and illustrations, instead it was filled with an abundance of text, consisting of user’s opinions and thoughts,

For a class activity, I would defintely stick to the platform of Tumblr, as it gives students a richer experience and more chance of finding something valuable to them.

PROMPT 7

Whilst exploring the tag #picturebooks, I was in awe of the abundance of colour and illustrations that sprung onto my computer screen. it has really shown me, how big of a social platform Tumblr is, and the many, different ways in which individuals use it, to express themselves and share their own artwork. 

Whilst exploring this tag, I stumbled across the following picture, which depicts the relationship between a reader and a writer. I really loved this picture as it was a great way to explore and understand the relationship that you wouldn’t usually think about, being between a reader of a book and the writer of that book.

PROMPT 6

After watching the video ‘Welcome to Shelley Beach’. I think a great front-loading activity based around this video would be asking students to think about their own ‘special place’. We would base a discussion around these special places, the discussion may include comparisons of the special places and similarities and differences. Students may even have the chance to draw their favourite place also, these could then be hung on the wall for a special display of ‘Grade..’s Special Places’.
