Dark World/DELTARUNE Esha
What if Esha fell into a Dark Fountain...?
I’ve actually had this idea bouncing around since last year, and it went through a bunch of different versions before I finally settled on something. Chapters 3 & 4 really helped a lot !
A Dark Fountain opens up in her bathroom. As she falls in, her scream alerts her pet conure, Vanille, who immediately dives in after her.
Esha often gets tied to healer or mage roles, but that would already be a lot with Noelle and Ralsei (probably Toriel and Alphys too in the future). I always wanted to give Esha a bow, because I really loved the elegance of Princess Zelda & Evangelyne (Wakfu). And now it’s finally happening ~
Her design and gameplay are inspired by the Archer/Hunter classes you find in DnD, Final Fantasy and plenty of other games.
Vanille stays perched on her shoulder at all times and transforms into a bow when combat begins. Vanille can also be used by the player to solve some distant puzzles.
Being the conure she is, Vanille gets super expressive. Her personality is all sass and mood swings. Kris and Esha can’t understand her, but surprisingly, every darkners can. So they end up translating what she says.
In the Dark World, Kris, being the only human, has their warm palette flip to cold, even their skin tone. So we applied the same logic ! She shares a similar base palette with Kris (+ Chara & Asriel), but we went with turquoise shades, with yellow as the complementary color.
