The Concealer That Tops Both Netflix and Cute Boys
Okay, ladies. I’m going to be honest here: I stayed up far too late last night. Netflix was calling my name! Then, this cute boy started texting me, and I just couldn’t end that conversation. A while later, I realized I hadn’t posted anything to Instagram in a couple of days, so I knocked that out. The result was me waking up at 6:30 AM with just a couple hours of sleep and feeling like somebody tried to turn my under-eye circles into birthday balloons. That’s a party I’d rather not attend (thank you for the invite, though).
Fortunately, my Coastal Scents Eclipse Palette was ready to save my day. This awesome palette has all the colors you never knew you needed all wrapped up in one thin, matte black case. It’s so easy to take on the go.
I was always the girl who thought you only needed one color of concealer. Well today is opening my eyes, literally! I need the green to correct my reddish/purple dark circles and blemishes. Naturally, I also need my color of concealer for my face, but I’ve got a holiday party to go to tonight and a massive black bruise on my leg that needs to get covered. Hence my need for other skin tone shades. Thanks again, Coastal Scents.
After moisturizing and priming, I excitedly went in with the green. I also use a green-tinter primer, and I feel like it helps a bit.
Depending on the pock and/or scar, I covered my blemishes with the green and lighter color concealers. I typically have to use the lightest tone I can find, but Coastal Scents pleasantly surprised me with having a color that was too light for even me. So there you have it! I promise, there is a color to match you in this nifty palette.
I then carefully blended my normal routine on top of my concealer and was ready to hit the town. I was so impressed with the applicable texture of the formula that I wore it to work the next day (because my BB5 babes made sure I needed to hide those circles again. Party party!). I got so many compliments on my skin; I’m a believer of this product for life.
Xo,
Jenny
Coastal Scents Eclipse Palette Review+ Highlight and Contour Tutorial
Hi there! This is my first makeup review ever, so please go easy on me. >_<
Disclaimer: This is not a paid review. I bought this product with my own money.
Oookay~ so let’s begin!
I was searching for concealers over the Internet because the local brands I’ve tried is no good for me. I always swear to the Naturactor Cover Face Foundation/Concealer because it does the job and lasts for a long time. I needed the green one because I have lots of redness/acne scars going on my face. As a stressed college student, it’s unavoidable.
The green Naturactor was out of stock everywhere, so I opted to look for another one since I cannot wait for restocks any longer. I came across a local online makeup store [ http://www.theprimppad.com/ ]. I browsed their shop and products were fairly priced, so I decided to give it a try.
I browsed in their concealers section and found a priced at 698 pesos. I googled about the Coastal Scents brand and it seemed like a reliable brand.
I paid through bank deposit. My orders arrived 2 days after. It was a smooth transaction. Thanks, Primp Pad :)
On to the pictures~
I also bought NYX wonder pencil which I am gonna do a review on soon.
It has 15 shades which is good for highlight, contouring, and color correcting. Not bad for a 698 peso palette. Ta dah~no mirror.
Now, let’s see it’s performance.
(P.S. This also serves as a contour and highlight tutorial.)
This is my bare face. Yikes. hahaha deal with it. I have lots or redness, acne scars, and dark circles. :))
with BB cream and circle lens. Ta dah~ I’ve transformed! (ughhhh, maybe just a bit). I still have redness and dark circles. It needs to be covered.
Green to neutralize red. :)
Orange for yeer dark circles. hahahaha!
Using the darkest shade, I contoured my face ala Kim Kardashian (Well, not quite) :))
Highlighting~ :3
Yo woman, you need to blend all dat sht out.
And yeaaay! I’m done! I also did my eye makeup and eyebrows.
This look is actually a trial for Princess Anna (Frozen) hence the braided wig on the background and the freckles on my face.
THE AFTERMATH. :))
My Verdict~
PROS:
- It really conceals your imperfections.
- Wide range of colors to suit your needs.
- Blendable
- You only need a small amount to get the job done.
- No funny smell
CONS:
- You can only get them online in the Philippines.
- The pans are quite small and has small quantity.
- Tends to get oily after hours of wear.
- It can get really messy. You should use a mixing plate and spatula when using this product.
- The shades are actually lighter than how it looks in the pan.
Rating:
4/5
Other Comments:
I still like my Naturactor Cover Face better, but this is also good. You may need to blot or powder your face after a few hours if you have oily skin (like me).
Would I repurchase?
Probably.
My first review of the coastal scents eclipse palette!
