@eclipsedflower Jung frowned as he heard her voice her concerns, a shake of his head immediately given as he attempted to console her.

“ You shouldn’t be afraid- don’t you trust your husband to protect you? I told you, I’m not a kid anymore, I’m a man and nothing will ever happen to you.” He smiled encouragingly at her, hands having moved to grasp her shoulders affectionately. As his words fell to a close, he drew her in, wrapping his arms around her. Nothing would harm her- not if he had any say in it. Not until his blood ran cold and he lay dead for her.

He would treat her life as his own and defend her to the grave.

  Dark eyes watched the woman as she slept, a million thoughts running through the 14th prince’s mind. He knew she didn’t love him- not like she had loved Wook at one point, nor like she loved So. But she was safe at last, and with that, he could be content. He was okay with the one sided love, and at least he knew she loved him as a friend. He would be okay with that. He could endure that. 

   Wife. 

  She was his wife now, and he intended to give her the world- or as much of it as he could. He didn’t have a palace- and for that he was grateful. He’d rescued her from that wretched place of horrors- a place filled with blood and misery. But what he did have was a cozy hearth to call home, and all the adoration that filled him. 

   Shifting slightly, Jung released a quiet sigh, moving forward to adjust the blankets that covered the girl, smiling fondly down at her. It would take the blind to not see how much he cared- how much he’d cared for so long though he’d kept any utterance from slipping forth.

                  ❝ fair enough. ❞                  an amused grin spreads across her face as she lifts her back from                  the couch and looks up at hae soo eagerly. recovering from a less                  than friendly relationship a month or so prior ( jealousy is a curse. ),                  soon deok liked to think that the two were making wonderful progress                  mending a much more pleasant friendship. however, from the smell                  of burning meat coming from the kitchen, she assumes that the meal                  wasn’t agreeing with hae soo as much as soon deok was.
