Took a tour of Waste Management and Reuse facilities for Alameda County today. It was sooo inspiring and informative! Such as... ONE TON OF CLOTHING AND TEXTILES IS PROCESSED PER HOUR. And this is just for Oakland 😱😵 - not Berkeley and San Francisco... JUST OAKLAND 😵🌍👀 As a fashion designer that figure stuck with me throughout the two hour tour... ‘how do we repurpose these commodities?’ ‘What will it take to get people to stop thinking fast fashion is worth their energy?’ And daamnn, people!
