Japanese Banner Reusable Bags (Shopping, Beach, Picnics, School, Whatever)
Single-use plastic consumables are getting banned almost everywhere. I know you probably already know all about it, and this might seem like hardly anything, but I’ve seen for myself the devastating effects that plastic bags can have in a lot of places: sewers get blocked, overrun, and suddenly malaria is a huge problem again (for instance) … that’s one of the knock-on effects that a lot of people miss because they get overwhelmed about the micro plastics in the ocean and other huge stuff like that, and on top of it, these things can easily be politicised: all of which has a tendency to dwarf our sense of what we can actually do through our own daily choices, or whether it has any real effect at all. I happen to have seen first-hand the kind of problems that are caused by single-use plastics (bags, cups, etc.), so I’ve been coming up with things that I can make or offer that help to change people’s habits.
I don’t expect this to be of much help, but it’s something I believe in, and it’s my little bit. I’m bringing out a bunch of different reusable cloth bags, reusable lunch pouches, etc. with what I hope are appealing designs, to encourage people everywhere to actually want to use them. Call it my “Winter Resolutions Collection/Campaign 2019”.
I’m basically offering these reusable bags at-cost, what the workshop charges me per piece (because earning an actual living as an independent musician and designer is sooo 2018….sigh).
Incidentally, these aren't those plastic things the supermarkets sell with handles that break off the third time you use them. These are proper: waterproof, washable robust reusable cloth bags, made to last and printed so that they never fade. They have inner pockets for your keys, wallet, phone, secret candy treats, or whatever, making them useful not just for shopping but for picnics, trips to the beach, maybe organising stuff in your car or room.
Please consider using one, or getting one for someone who could use it. And please forgive me if your feed is filled with these. I’d like it to reach people and make some kind of difference. Thank you.
