What steps do you take when coloring?
Uh-oh.. How do I explain… So…
1. Before coloring, I make sure all of the outline is [at least] tidy.
2. Next, I start base coloring, each objects has their own layer. Example: layer 1 is for outline, layer 2 is for skin, layer 3 is for hair & so on… I made it this way so I don’t have to ruin the other colored object when one colored object is messed up.
3. And then I shade the colors to make the drawing look less flat.
4. Since I like my drawings colorful, I give them finishing like adding another color including the outline since I can’t leave a color alone.
And here’s an additional information related to the shading and finishing part, just in case you’re using Paint Tool SAI(the only program I use to draw now) and new to it…
In shading & finishing, I usually play with that “preserve opacity” box.
With the preserve opacity thing, it’ll be more convenient to add other color in one object…
…unlike this…
Here. This is what I meant just in case you get confused.
A’ight thanks for asking and I hope this is helpful. Sorry for the late reply.
