Jack and Maddy are overjoyed when Danny says he wants to become a ghost hunter totally out of the blue one day. Their son, following in their footsteps!? Amazing!
So they pay for Danny to go to college and get a degree in ecto-biology and all of that. Even set up an internship with the GIW as soon as he graduates - but he tells them he wants to take a gap year and travel for a bit (with Ellie, of course, little do they know!)
Well when he gets back he tells them he's landed the job of a lifetime, he'll be doing real ghost hunting on his very own TV show (paid for by a redeemed Vlad little do they know)
So Danny becomes the ghost hunting version of Steve Irwin - showing ghost anthropology and wrangles ghosts on camera and talks about how they have to do combat and spar for enrichment, how blob ghosts are adorable but are wild animals and shouldn't be pets, etc
This all gets back to the authorities and endangered species groups etc etc and the GIW gets shut down - maybe even a DC crossover and Damien gets involved wanting to do conservation etc etc.

But I was thinking about something so I guess I’ll throw my hat into the ring for trying to get the ecto-biology right as the show never talks about it
OK, so in the episode, I’ve seen people mention that Elmer, curse him, said only specific people can become half ghost. I do not believe this. Or at least partly.
You see, I was thinking about the experiences both halfa ghost that were created went though. Vlad got blasted with the mini ghost portal #1, and Danny got electriciced by the big version of the same thing.
Then in the doctor episode, we see every student at Casper high get ghost powers from the bite of the ghost bug mini versions. So, Spectra says everyone will die from burning themselves out
Ok, summery over.
So the thing is, what makes Danny and Vlad so different? nothing. Except for a few key things
Danny has been around ectoplasmic waste his whole life, if not since very very young when they got to Amity Park.
In the same way, Vlad was around for for a long period of time, but not since childhood. It’s why he ended up so different
Vlad was exposed in a large does AFTER working around it for a long period of time
Danny was zapped by the portal after basically since being in the womb around the junk
So my point? Both Danny and Vlad were exposed slowly, with a large jump off point for getting their powers
Now, why does that matter with the Doctor’s episode? Simple. The Amity Kids weren’t just bitten by the bug, they were ejected with the energy. Straight into their body, in a major ‘dose’ And just like any meds you are given, that’s a bad bad idea for a lot of reasons.
This matters because with Danny and Vlad it was a slow process. The kids in the school were given the big dose all at once.
The thing about ecto energy is that it’s sort of like anything else that would effect you. One big dose, and you could be SICK or be killed by too much, shown by modern medication even now!
The thing to really push this, is how exactly Vlad and Danny got their powers.
Because while everyone knows Vlad was blasted by the portal, unlike Danny, he got the ecto acne. He was in the hospital for the rest of his young adult life! Now why could this be? Why did Danny get off scot free when he suffered so badly?
Because he was shot in the face, and the ecto-acne came from the same place as normal acne. The pores of his face. The energy stuck though there.
Danny on the other hand, was zapped. I believe it was in the title seq. thing, but it came though like tiny zaps and one major one. This came though him the same way as normal lighting would, into his body and attempting to find an exit. It never did, and bounded with his body.

During the first couple of episodes, really during the first, no one noticed Lunch Lady ghost until the big meat battle during the protest. Why did no one notice her before that? because almost none of them had been exposed to the energy waste the fentons, Sam, and Tucker all did in Amity Park
