Here we are!!!

It took a little longer than I expected because my baby was so excited to finally meet us that he arrived a few weeks early! It also took me almost a month to write the last three chapters... but I made it!

First of all, a HUGE thank you to my lovely beta, @fkinkindagauche, who was incredibly supportive and always left me the most amazing comments! (She’s also a writer in the Eddie BB—check out her fic, Pando!)

Another BIIIG thank you goes to @maikaartwork, who kindly stepped in to pinch-hit for my fic, even while working on two other fics—absolute legend!

With that said, this is the saddest fic I’ve ever written, so brace yourselves for a painful journey spanning 30 years.

1986 - Don’t give up on love

Hosting a Hellfire meeting at Steve’s place every week wasn't exactly something Eddie had been looking forward to. He hadn’t thought it was in the cards for Eddie Munson and his acolytes to sit at Harrington's grandfather's oak table, screaming, cursing, and rolling dice. And he has no idea how the one-time thing became a regular occurrence with the entire Hellfire Club staying at Harrington’s place to play, eat pizza, and watch a movie every Friday night.

Somehow Robin has managed to find a place in the group and even Erica Sinclair is now part of the club. Eddie grins, looking at the girl sitting on her knees on the velvet chair to have a better look at the board while she confabs about something with her brother.

Eddie has tried to get Steve involved as well; after all, he’s the one who’s hosting them every week. But he told him that he got too many concussions to sit in that chaos trying to do mental math. Instead, his role is making sure the Party eats and takes breaks instead of playing straight through the night.

Four months ago, Eddie got invited to Steve's place for the first time ever, and today is the last day of the campaign. They have suffered some painful losses during their journey, but now that they’re getting to the end of the campaign, a mix of excitement and sadness fills the air.

"I can't believe Buckley is graduating and going on a trip with her girlfriend," Eddie says, playing with the phone's cable. Girlfriend, yeah, because Robin Buckley is officially out and she's in a relationship with a lovely red-haired girl she met in college named Vickie and they are now planning a one-month trip to Europe to celebrate graduation before getting back to real life. "Yeah. Can't believe it either," Steve replies, chuckling softly, "but you’re doing good too. Gareth told me you might have found someone who’s interested in your music." That's true. After four years of playing in every terrible bar in the state, it looks like someone finally noticed them. Eddie's not too hopeful, he has had his dreams crushed so many times during the years that he's almost resigned to work every job he was offered until his deathbed, so he tries his best not to keep his hopes up. "Come on! Show some enthusiasm! Jeff sent me a demo copy and it sounded really good." "That's because for the first time, we recorded in a recording studio and not Gareth's mom's garage." Eddie chuckles. "But I'm getting older, Steve, and I'm starting to think I have to deal with real life, not dreams." There's a long moment of silence. Both Eddie's and Steve's lives have faced many complications. Steve's parents disowned him and he's working two jobs to pay for rent and college, because Steve Harrington enrolled in a community college. He's doing his best to be accepted into a prestigious teaching course, but he's struggling.
