"I know it seems like a lot." Eden said as she watched the others file out of the temple. He looked overwhelmbed. She'd seen him fumbling over the words during mass. They weren't easy. Her mother insisted everything still be conducted in Latin. She could only say the prayers so easily because she'd been doing it all her life. They were her birthright, words that had been strung together millennia ago to worship the demon she called her father. On the few occasions that she'd spoken to Melkor, she'd done it in the same tongue. Most people couldn't just pick it up, but that was just a part of her leading him through what it meant to be one of them. After all, she was going to have to lead them all someday. The whole world, really.
She smiled and sat down on the pew next to him, all too radiant for the infernal destiny she had laid out before her. "You'll get it though, and if you don't, if you kind of just stick together some syllables with enough confidence, it usually sounds good enough." Pointing to the altar she'd stepped down from where her father's sigil hung in a place of pride and the candles were still smoking, she stood and offered him her hand. "You want to check it out? We can practice that last prayer."
