So I'm currently at Fanshawe for ECE looking into either Ryerson for the BA/ECE or York for Concurrent Ed and I was wondering if you know anything about Transferring from ECE to Concurrent, or transferring in at all?
The basic jist of transferring is that you need to meet the minimum requirements of the program you are applying to. In your case, with Concurrent, there are some other factors that come into play. If you want to transfer into Concurrent, you’ll absolutely need to have some relevant experience. If you are already in the ECE program you might already have suitable experience, depending on what grade level you want to teach - example, if you want to teach highschool students, experience with small children isn’t quite the same as experience with teenagers.
You can read about the specific application process here. I’ve known of people applying with high 70s or low 80s but it’s quite competitive, so I encourage you to apply with the highest GPA you think you can attain to better your chances.
You can call York if there are any specific details that you are unclear of on that link I sent you. You can also check out some awesome Concurrent resources written by our very own L, here.
Good luck! Feel free to keep us updated if you decide to apply to York :D
