The entire meeting was boring, very much could have been an email, yet Raquel’s attention is elsewhere. Just six chairs down and on the other side of the table is her coworker, consistent rival and oh yeah, ex-girlfriend. It felt like a cruel twist of fate that the two were constantly in the thick of it together, unable to have a clean break because they stupidly decided that breaking up was the smart route to go down yet still stay in the same city and practically have the same job. That didn’t mean they avoided one another, no. That was impossible, and somehow, they always ended up together, if only for a quick fuck to relieve stress or tension or whatever reason they decided on that day. Their dismissal pulled her out of her reverie as she quickly collected her things. Before the leggy blonde had a chance to get too far, she called out her name. “Alexa! Wait up!” At her side, she continued walking, letting the other fall in step before she said, “Do you have anything planned for lunch? I was thinking we could eat out? Or, maybe, you could.” Smirking, she walked a little faster, heading towards the other’s office.
